I'm so glad you're here!

Welcome! I’m Susan and I’m delighted that you’re here! I call myself a savvy museum visitor for two reasons. First, my life has been filled with visiting museums, working in museums, volunteering in museums, and consulting for museums. Secondly, even though I’m knowledgeable and experienced about museums, I’m also discerning, meaning I find the good, the delightful, and the wonder of museums, but sometimes I’m irked when museums don’t prioritize the visitor experience.

As a savvy museum visitor, I hope to share about museums you may not know about. I want to nudge you to look with new eyes at museums. And, I love exploring the wellness benefits of museums and cultural organizations. Everything here is free for you to access, other than my Biltmore Reflections – stories about my time as curator of the largest historic house in American, and museum chats.
